Have you noticed any of the following?
UNEVEN FLOOR BOARDS
...can be noisy. You're likely to hear problem spots before you see them. Ask us to replace or repair your floorboards so that you can start using your room properly again.
BROKEN OR DAMAGED BOARDS
A common problem. We'll replace broken timber with the same grade and type of wood so that visitors to your home will never know the difference - and you'll quickly forget which ones were broken.
Again, something we see quite often. Wood's durability gives it a unique quality but sometimes, boards will rot if they're very old or infected with woodworm. These boards can't be repaired so we'll replace them, making sure they match the rest of your floor perfectly.
If your floor has been sanded and sealed by a flooring expert, this shouldn't be an issue. However, we understand that skilled professionals may not always have been involved. London Floor Sanding will take care of everything, from removing the old, uneven colour through to applying a new one with a top quality finish.
Gaps in the floor look unsightly but they can also cause cold air to pervade a room from beneath. We'll use our expertise to fill any gaps in your wooden floor using resin mix or sized wooden strips, creating a seamless look and helping to prevent timber movement.
If the space is used often, the seal on your floor could fade over time, looking patchy and uneven. Should this be the case, it's time to consider London Floor Sanding. We'll identify what needs doing and recommend the perfect finish or sealant to keep your floor looking good for years.

PARQUET FLOOR REPAIR
Is your parquet floor in a state of disrepair or just looking rather tired?
In brief, has it seen better days and now needs good quality repair work by reliable and reputable experts? Here at London Floor Sanding, we know that wooden parquet floors give your home a warm, welcoming feel but even the highly durable beauty of parquet can get worn over time, fade or sustain damage.
WHAT SORT OF DAMAGE TO YOUR PARQUET FLOOR?
The large headed copper pins previously used on original parquet floors may have corroded, which could explain rust stains on your timber, for example. A parquet floor may also get damaged by humidity or flooding, or could succumb to "family life", with a few small stains, scuffs or scratches - or even some large ones! Who knows, you could drop something heavy on it or a plumber or electrician may have damaged the floor during previous work.
A strategically placed rug over the damaged spot may look odd and you'll still know that the damage is there. Don't worry, all is not lost. Time to call in the experts at London Floor Sanding. We'll return your parquet floor to its stunning best, repairing it so that it stays looking beautiful for many years to come.

PREPARATION, IMPLEMENTATION AND FINISHING - HOW WE REPAIR A PARQUET FLOOR
Preparation is the key to our success. At London Floor Sanding, we allow time to assess and repair the damage to an extremely high standard. We don't skip any vital stages. This is false economy and you could end up paying for the entire project all over again.
If parquet blocks are missing or damaged they will need to be replaced, so we work closely with specialist suppliers or reclaimed wood. We'll make sure that the new blocks are the right colour and size - you don't have to worry about a thing.
Loose blocks, however, can be fixed back into position.
After lifting aside the blocks that need to be set aside, the sub floor will be thoroughly scraped, cleaned and vacuumed, an important part of our preparation work. Bitumen is no longer used as an adhesive and this will need to be removed.
Parquet blocks are then re-fixed into that distinctive pattern using modern adhesives, dealing with small gaps of less than 6mm with filler. The surface of the floor is then sanded and finished to a beautiful fine sheen. Voilà!
