DO YOUR FLOORS NEED SOME TENDER LOVING CARE TO MAKE THEM SHINE AGAIN ?
Watch any home-style TV programme to see that wooden floors are not only back in fashion, they're becoming a permanent feature in many people's homes. The beauty of wood enhances a room, gives it warmth and can create a feeling of space and luxury. Completed well, a beautifully finished and polished floor reflects the sun shining into the room. Very, very attractive. Can you tell we're enthusiasts?
Preserving your wooden floor is straightforward. At W4 London Floor Sanding we even give you a free cleaning kit to help keep your floors looking at their best. However, we live in the real world so from time to time, you may require our wood floor polishing services.
LOSING THEIR SHINE?
If you have hardwood flooring in your home, you may notice that it's not quite as good looking as it should be. It's lost its shine or perhaps there's the odd patch that's uneven or dull. This is quite normal. Floors with a high degree of use - and remember that floors are for walking on - can sometimes get a little worn. Wood is a natural substance and despite a wax, oil or lacquer finish, your floors may need a little restorative, tender loving care now and again.
Whatever the type of wood, its age or condition, we can polish it for you.
DIY OR NOT TO DIY?
Do It Yourself? Risking damage to your lovely wooden floor is simply not worth it. You could end up with uneven areas, leaving ugly patches. You'll be conscious that they're there every time you walk into the room.
Donning your overalls and hiring a floor polishing machine could get the job done and yes, we understand why you'd do that. However, a really professional and thorough finish will only be achieved by the experts.
Here at W6 London Floor Sanding, we know what techniques and products are appropriate for the wide variety of wood types. We'll take the time and effort that this project needs - there's no such thing as a rush job with us.
HOW DO WE POLISH A FLOOR?
With great care and attention to detail. As ever, preparation is the key. After sanding, stains and sealants are applied (see wood floor finishing) and may need more than one coat. Buffing and polishing your floor to a high shine takes a degree of skill and patience.
Remember that your floor may not be a regular shape so we use edging orbitals and buffers, even hand tools to get into those hard to reach corners.
Why not contact us to discuss your needs? We're keen to hear from you and we're just a phone call away.
